The Tourette Syndrome Association of Massachusetts is
an all volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to support
the needs of families affected by Tourette Syndrome. Our goal is to
advocate for individuals with TS, educate the public and professionals
about TS, and promote awareness.
Promote advocacy through parent training and support.
Organize educator and medical conferences sponsored by the CDC and National TSA
Support in-service efforts for classrooms presentations by parents or TSA representatives
Sponsor and promote support group meetings
Organize family events for those effected by TS
Media relations and awareness campaigns
Support line available for questions and a compassionate ear
Update website for local and national information and links regarding TS
Solicit funds for support of our organization’s goals
Disseminate information to members, educators, physicians and allied professionals
Cooperate with associated organizations whose objectives are common with us.
Lobby Massachusetts Senators and Representatives
yearly at Capitol Hill requesting support for TS issues and
appropriations requests.
National Tourette Syndrome Association
Founded in 1972 in Bayside, New York, Tourette Syndrome
Association (TSA) is the only national voluntary non-profit membership
organization in this field. Our mission is to identify the cause of,
find the cure for, and control the effects of Tourette Syndrome. We:
Offer resources and referrals to help people and their families cope with the problems that occur with TS
Raise public awareness and counter media stereotypes about TS.
Our membership includes individuals, families, relatives, and medical and allied professionals working in the field.

Dawn Boisvert Erickson, President
Dawn is a mother of three sons, two of whom have TS. She
graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a BA in
English/Journalism. Since 2002, she has served in various volunteer
capacities for the TSA-MA. She has used her experience in media
relations to bring public awareness about TS to various media outlets
such as local newspapers, magazines, and documentaries. Currently she
is president of the board for the Massachusetts Chapter and does
classroom presentations for each of her son’s schools. She has
successfully lobbied Capitol Hill in Washington, DC for the last four
years to advocate for TS issues and appropriations. Her latest project
has been the redesign of the current TSA-MA website. She lives in
Plymouth with her husband, three sons, and two dogs. You can contact her

Jeff Swift, Vice President
Jeff is a father of two children and has TS himself. He is a
nurse for Jordan Hospital and his experience brings the clinical
perspective so many families benefit from. He is a wealth of
information for heath related resources and coordinates a Plymouth TS
support group. Since 1998, he has served in various volunteer
capacities for the Tourette Syndrome Association of Massachusetts and
from 2000 to 2006, he was our chapter president. When he handed over
the torch to Dawn, he remained with the chapter as vice president.
Currently he has advised and updated the medical contents of the new
TSA-MA website. He lives in Plymouth with his wife, two children, and

Liliane Larsen, Treasurer
Liliane is a mother of two sons (one who has TS), a stepson, and
stepdaughter. She is a self-employed bookkeeper who graduated from Iona
College in New Rochelle, NY and has run her own bookkeeping business
since 2001. She is on the Board of Directors for the TSA-MA serving as
Treasurer. She has been a volunteer with the TSA-MA since 2005, and we
are grateful for her financial expertise. She lives in Scituate with her

Chrissy Joyal, Secretary
Chrissy is the mother of four children and an integral part of the
TSA-MA. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs in Boston with an
Associates Degree in Secretarial Arts Business Technology. Her oldest
son has TS and several co-morbid conditions. She home schools all four
of her children while volunteering for her church, the American Cancer
Society, and TSA-MA. She joined the board of directors for TSA-MA in
2006 as Secretary. She coordinates a Taunton TS support group while
manning the TSA-MA phone line and juggling the numerous questions,
concerns, referral requests, and pleas for help. Recently, she has been
an instrumental part in the development, content research, and launch
of the new TSA-MA website. She lives in Taunton with her husband, three

Ron Goodstein, Technical Support
Ron has been a member of the TSA-MA since 1984, serving in various
positions such as treasurer, newsletter editor, and co-president of the
chapter in the early 1990s. He established the original TSA-MA website
in 1996 and maintained it until 2008 and recently has assisted in the
switch of the website to a new server to host the redesigned site. He
is an electrical engineer with a Masters Degree in Computer Science and

Judy Storeygard, Education Specialist
Judy has been active in TSA-MA for twenty years, specializing in the
educational element of the chapter. She is a mathematics education
researcher who focuses on the math learning of students with special
needs. She is the mother of two sons; the younger one has TS. Her
primary focus has been the educator conferences and recently has
assisted in updating the webpage to include links to related educational
organizations.
